Couldn’t ask for much better conditions for a February race although 3 years ago many ran in singlets and shorts when Maine was hit with a freak warm spell. Many, including Mike Lyons, ran this race as a training run. Others like Christine Reaser took advantage of conditions for a fast race. Christine broke Joan’s course record. Even on a good day, this is not an easy course as most of the hills are in the last 3 miles. Proceeds go to MTC scholarships. This was Bob Payne’s 13th and last race as race director as he plans to spend future winters in Florida. Bob Winn, Lloyd Slocum, Russ Bradley & Carlton Mendell all met USAT&F national standards.
